Built-In Seating: The Fire Pit Lounge
A rusty metal fire bowl from the garden centre ruins a £20k patio. Here is how we build permanent outdoor living rooms you actually want to use.
The Rusty Bowl
You spend good money on a sleek, modern porcelain patio.
Then you go to the garden centre and buy a cheap metal fire pit on wobbly legs.
By November, it’s a rusty bowl full of rainwater. The wind blows wet ash across your clean tiles. It ruins the whole look of the garden. You spent all that money on the hardscaping just to stick cheap, temporary furniture on top of it.
Not Just a Square of Paving
Most landscapers just lay a massive flat square of paving, pack up their vans, and leave you to figure out the furniture.
We don't do that. We build outdoor living rooms.
If you want a reason to sit in the garden after the sun goes down, you need a dedicated zone.
The Permanent Build
We don't do temporary. We build permanent seating areas into the patio itself.
We lay solid concrete blockwork and render it smooth to match the house. We build L-shapes or U-shapes to create a natural lounge area.
Then we top the benches with polished stone coping or warm cedar timber slats. It won't blow over in a gale. It won't rust. It becomes a structural part of the garden.
The Fire Zone
We build the fire pit straight into the hardscaping.
We can sink it into the paving or build a raised, rendered fire table in the centre of the seating area. No dragging heavy metal bowls around. You get a clean, modern focal point.
Build It In
Stop buying flimsy furniture that rots in the winter.
Build it in. Make it permanent. Give yourself a proper reason to use the garden at night.
