The £100k Extension Alternative: Keep the Builders Out of the House
You want more space, but an extension means six months of dust and mud inside the house. Here is why a heavy-duty garden room is the cleaner way to do it.
The £100k Headache
People want more living space, so they price up a rear extension. The quotes come back at eighty or a hundred grand.
Worse than the price is the reality of the job. Having an extension built means builders tracking mud through your hallway, the kitchen covered in brick dust, and the back of the house boarded up for six months while the weather gets in.
Keep the House Clean
There is a cleaner way to get the space. You build a heavy-duty garden lodge at the bottom of the lawn.
We bring the gear straight down the side access. We dig the groundworks and build the sub-frame outside. You don't lose your kitchen, you don't have dust on the furniture, and you aren't living inside a building site. We just get on with the job at the bottom of the garden and stay out of your way.
The Heavy Spec
We aren't talking about a summerhouse. We build proper architectural rooms.
If you look at our Signature Pavilion concept, we are talking about a 7,000 x 4,000 mm external footprint. We build the walls, roof, and floor out of heavy 172mm SIPs. We fit premium aluminium sliding doors and build an integrated pergola on the front. It is a proper, highly insulated building that actually holds its heat.
See The Gear In Person
If you have the budget for an extension but don't want the hassle of knocking your house around, put a luxury SIPs room in the garden instead.
We are building a live display cabin down at the garden centre right now. Come down, have a look at the heavy materials we use, and see how solid these rooms actually are.
